I haven’t had this problem so all I can suggest is to keep playing and if it does it again look on the internet for a possible solution

Everytime I press the save game icon, it just does some sound but won't open the damn thing.

I even pressed load game but I only got a black screen and I'm thrown back into the game.

if you want to do chapter one then go to progress then story then you can play chapter1 missions only
