RDR2 did a poor job of portraying an enriching character such as John. I feel like they took a giant shot on him and called him nothing. He had much more development and character in the span of RDR1 than he did in RDR2. RDR2 writes him off as some deadbeat father who barely does anything the entire story until the epilogue. It’s like when they wrote Arthur, they took everything that was likable about John and pasted it onto him. I find that very lazy. John also lacks the witty dialogue and humor his character had in the first. RDR2 doesn’t even give us insight into his deceased daughter and his family life, or the massacre for that matter. It’s all glossed over in favor of writing a new protagonist that’s arguably just a reskinned John with a much more exaggerated accent.

I was hoping to get the dark bay. Guess that glitch was fixed long ago. I have the arabian and WOW not liking how you sneeze and it has a heart attack.
It sure seems there's a deeper bond that happens after 4. Every time I hit level 4 my instantaneous first move is making them rear. Every time I get bucked. After a little bit more though no more buck.

What do you guys do when you dont feel like progressing through the story. I remember last year on my second playthrough I stopped at Chapter 2 but everytime I hopped on to play I felt bored as hell maybe I just wasnt in the mood for exploration
