Im bummed the game doesn't let you rescue the guy below the gunsmith shop right away.

I spoke to the guy under the gunsmith shop and of course it was still early in chapter 3..I couldn't get him out and didn't have the option to with the shopkeeper. After playing a few more missions and still not being able to rescue him he has now died, and the game never offered me a chance to save him.

I wish they would just introduce him after the part where you can't have weapons in Rhodes. Its a shame I missed out on it because I discovered him early.

You're given free reign to hurt and steal from any and all you want and the game even makes mini quests out of some of them. If Arthur were truly so disgusted by Strauss, he should have refused to follow through on the loans, and make him change his ways if he wanted to stick around. Those loans are at least part of what's funding the entire gang, after all. Up to and definitely including a lot of their "steal fron the rich" schemes.

I also get that Arthur seems like he's at least projecting a good bit of his own self-resentment for his methods of getting the loans when he scolds Strauss.

But the way he talks, it almost makes it come off as if he has as much contention with a crooked accountant as he does toward the psycho willing to gun down dozens of people in Strawberry, or the dude taking all that money and hiding it away for his insane suicide plans while leading them all over a cliff.

The bill thing was dutch command it was bills choice to threaten them. the reign of free will is the players choice outside of the story, plus the gang at the beginning never wants heat so sometimes gang members scold you for shooting near camp and such, I never seen mini quests for them except the one guy in towns that makes a random encounter out of stealing money from someones brother. Arthur only saw through Strauss in chapter 6 because he saw how messed up it was but didn't before because he wasn't cowboy Jesus in chapters 1-4, even if the player was like that. And Micah is an op character so Arthur was afraid of him

I know it was Dutch's command, but that just further strengthens the fact they're both culpable, the sadism stems from the leader of the whole group.

There are a few little heists and such that are targeted at totally random people. I think of the Crawfish house or whatever it was called, the alcoholic dad and his son. While obviously you don't need to partake in it, and it could be framed as a "moral choice", the inclusion of a script for it and all paints it as a pretty ostensible thing for Arthur to have actually done. The player is given free will to do as they please, but the slippery slope that comes with it is a high potential for disconnect between a character's implied moral state and what's possible.

Arthur had definitely already seen through Strauss by chapter 2. He actively voiced his disapproval of Strauss' methods yet begrudgingly goes along with it anyway because, well, begrudgingly going along with any and everything kind of seems to be in Arthur's nature. And yet in spite of that disapproval, he is absolutely savage in his dealings against those people who take the loans.
