I caught the steelhead trout, but got ambushed and knocked off my horse a bit afterwards. I didn't notice I'd lost the fish until after I'd already left the area. I didn't die. I went back and tried to catch it again but eventually gave up. I'm now in the Epilogue, I haven't tried to go back up there yet because I doubt I would get different results now than I was getting before. The map shows it not crossed off, yet it shows that I caught it in my compendium. Also it is not at the post office, and in the quest view it is not checked as caught. What do I do?

I think there's a bit of minor editing to make it so.
And I know the reason why John is so skinny in the very start of the Epilogue is due to a glitch but it'd also make sense that he'd be skimping on meals to ensure that Jack and Abigail atleast get proper nourishment, And Abigail sucks at cooking as well.
