If you're still stuck in 2024, what ended up working for me was going to Van Horn during the day, shoot the bartender behind the counter through the front right window, afterwards I got a prompt to overwrite my Autosave, click yes. Then get out of there before you're killed, then Fast Travel to Tumbleweed, spend as many nights there as possible, and then fast travel back to Van Horn and it should be opened back up. (Make sure to save your game after
)

I think i will try this solution but he syas spent as much nights as you can but what does that mean

A sure fire method to open the van horn saloon if its glitched is to:-
1.Fast travel to tumbleweed and stay there for 2 or more days if needed (recommended - 7 days)
2. Fast travel back to van horn and then start a shootout where you must die without killing anyone

and boom its open

@small oar to answer your question btw you can essentially store pelts just by selling them to pearson or the trapper

any pelts sold to either of them can then be used to craft various things

BUT they dont intermingle, so once you sell a pelt to pearson it cant be used for anything at the trapper and vice versa

but small animal pelts can just be kept in your satchel indefinitely

in order to get the legend of the east satchel, you have to do all of the other satchels too

but, deer are practically everywhere (look in the heartlands mostly), cougar spawns are particular but theres a pretty reliable one west of owanjila lake (going up towards the trapper), and theres usually wolf spawning up near the cougar spawn OR at cotorra springs

if you dont know those places, just search em up and google will let you know
