so basically your goal is to have a better "hand" at the end of a round than everyone else whos still in the round

your hand is comprised of five cards, whatever the best five are out of the two in your hand and the five on the table

so to beat other players you need to have special combinations of cards

the most basic one is a pair

if you have a pair of 2's, and no one else has anything, you win the round and you get all the money in the pot
