its not just using a bow btw, there are basically size classes for animals and each class requires a certain weapon or ammo type

the smallest animals require a small game arrow, the next smallest like rabbits require a varmint rifle

its not enough to use the right weapon either, you also need to crit

and make sure you're using normal rifle ammo and not express or high velocity

a regular arrow should also work for pronghorn

if you struggle with these requirements tho you can also get the buck antler trinket which will sometimes prevent the pelt quality from dropping if you fail to use the right ammo or hit the crit spot
