If you let the dialogue play out she will kill him no matter what. However if you try to lasso Ellie first, the guy will attack you and it goes for the other away around. (Meaning if you lasso the guy first she will attack you)

but also i would stay on your horse when you know you're in the predator area, and keep your deadeye full in case you need it

you also need to hit a critical area to bring it down in one shot, usually the head works

and keep an eye on your mini map, when you see a red dot thats likely a predator

I try to stay on my horse, but I don't have predator areas memorized and my horse likes to buck me off

when the cougar or wolf or whatever charges at you that should line you up for an easy headshot

if u look through ur binoculars u can see them standing on both sides of the path waiting for u but the encounter only triggers once u get within a certain distance so as long as u have dead eye and a rifle with a scope on it u can usually take most of them out before they even see u

yeah i’d recommend trying to evenly space the exploration throughout the game, u’ll still have plenty of time to explore later on but on my first playthrough i spent all my time exploring because people told me to take my time and i took it too literally😭 by late chapter 3 i started getting bored and ended up just rushing through the rest of the game

Guys I sold the raven black shire back when I did the quest because I thought I had to. I now realise that he is a really good horse and I shouldn’t have sold him? If I redo the quest will I get him back? Or do I have to start over?

I’m so bummed that I sold the black shire, I tried redoing the quest and chose the option to keep him rather than sell but he isn’t showing in my owned horses so I don’t think that worked. Part of me wants to start over, part of me doesnt want to redo everything I’ve already done 🤦‍♀️

I like his appearance, but yeah a dark bay would still be nice. I’m just annoyed because I didn’t want to sell him, but I thought I had to to complete the quest…. And I assumed I could buy him back later

tbh i feel like its not that great in terms of stats, i think a lot of people just hype it up bc of the rarity and the fact its free😭 its a good horse but theres still better options imo

Yeah I got the Tennessee Walker that you start with (might sell that one 🤔) the freebie thoroughbred, and I just got the palomino American Standardbred, who is my main horse rn

I like her, she’s called Desert Rose 😊

The free thouroughbred you get with Ultimate edition is actually really good. Espically if you have the better saddles and stirrups
