It's so hard to beat the responsiveness of the Arabian's "elite" handling.

The special edition horse also just has lower stats overall.

I had a coworker that told me he doesn't need to worry about Arabians because he paid like, 80 bucks for the Ultimate Edition or whatever and they gave him the best horse. Like, oh no, Friend. This playthrough, I "damaged the pelt" with whatever gun I used. Might've been a sawed-off. And then I reset to checkpoint and I had the fur in my hand. 🤷‍♀️

Anything but the sniper will play great.

I like:

Everyday
• Sidearm: LeMat (or Schofield until the LeMat is available in Chapter 4)
• Offhand: Sawed-Off, for emergencies
• Rifle: Bolt-Action

Whatever
• Repeater: Lancaster
• Shotgun: Pump-Action, though I don't use it too much.
• Sniper: Rolling Block

Bow and Varmint rifle for hunting.

Everything in its class here favors accuracy/damage over fire rate. If you need fire rate for a situation, use the repeater.

I don't need to fire off a dozen shots haphazardly, so a single LeMat works great with its high capacity, high accuracy, high single shot damage, and fun secondary mode. It's slow reload is totally mitigated by using deadeye.

Sawed-off for when you're surprised, or something needs to die instantly. Tight corners.

Bolt-Action for anything ranged. Accurate, hits hard. It's pretty amazing and perfect for hunting medium to large sized animals. Real versatile. The single most useful gun in the game. You should always be aiming for heads, but it hits so hard and accurately that center of mass works great too when things are a little too chaotic.

Now if you're working with medium range and also want to kill dozens of enemies quickly, the Lancaster is a good go-to. Pretty common to use in missions. Fast firing, high capacity, head popper.

Pump Shotgun has a similar utility to the repeater, but close range. Shells and aim at center of mass. If no other weapon of yours is a fast head popper, then go with slugs to heads at medium range. Utility of the Pump is being able to switch between the two.

Snipers suck on a controller because they don't auto-aim. It's still good to have a Rolling Block because its utility is killing things with one hit at an extra long distance, as opposed to the Carcano whose utility is its high fire rate. I play on PC, so if I need to snipe, I can just switch to a mouse, but that's not viable for console users.

Saint Denis is just crowded.

It's a very tiny amount of honor though, and spammy. If you need to grind it, just fish and release. Otherwise, just do missions and be decent out in the world for the easiest honor raising.

The only thing more players affects is how long it takes to do a round.

Sit in the far right chair to go first so you do all your actions at once between waiting. Better for passively playing or actively skipping bad rounds.

Blackjack sucks so bad, and the blackjack challenges don’t encourage good play.

At least the Poker and Dominoes challenges encourage choices conducive to winning.

Check that guide I sent you. It'll tell you what weapon/ammo to use. Then just aim for the head.

They aren't the only weapons that work, but they're all-around useful. The Bolt-Action Rifle is one of the most versatile weapons in the game.

Get rid of your double sided pieces asap and keep track of what numbers they don't have available. No idea if that's the ideal strategy, but it works pretty well.

My favorite part of the auto-save is every time I open up the game it gives me a game-pausing pop-up letting me know it's going to overwrite the auto-save that you can only get past by holding a button. Gee, thanks for that speed bump every single session.

Items can only stack so high. You can presumably carry 3-5 of any item right now.

Go to Pearson. Check out his satchel upgrades. Each upgrade can double that category of item.

But if you get them all, it lets you stack any item to 99.

So prioritize that once you've advanced enough to get the weapons you need for hunting.

Upgrade your satchel at Pearson.

Upgrading to any specific satchel permanently doubles the amount you can stack of that category. Really, permanent. So you don’t have to choose just one to be active.

If you get all that satchel upgrades, that bonus goes up to 99 of every item. It’s worth getting as soon as you reasonably can.

It can’t be traced back to you if no one saw you do it, unless a lawman sees you directly during the WANTED process.

Masks prevent civilians from knowing who committed a crime if they witnessed it directly. Lawmen always see through masks and can discern guilt if they see you.
