I once caught a deer and instead of skinning it, I picked it up and pressed cook. Then the guy cooked only one piece of meat and I couldn't cook more. If I remember correctly, medium sized animals would drop 4-6 meat when skinning them??

But all I know is that you can't skin a rotten corpse
And that when you sell it non skinned you get more money

It automatically sets up a camp and prepares all the stuff to cook it. Like you would do if you manually set a camp, go near the fireplace and sit down.

Hi guys I have looked up an issue before and it seemed to be a fairly common issue but I wanted to see if anyone here had any suggestions since I have already tried the Reddit suggestions. I have a PS4 copy of RDR2. I played through it already on my dads PS5, but since I have moved out of my house, one of my friends upgraded and gave me their PS4. For some reason, when I try to download it, halfway through the second disc, it stops, the PS4 makes noises, and the time left goes up to 99 hours and refuses to keep downloading. I have tried about 10 different times on two different networks in two different places, but nothing seems to be working. I did not have this issue on the PS5, and I am just super frustrated because I bought this game and it won't even download. It's not a storage issue either, because my friend deleted all the games they had on there before giving it to me. Has anyone else had to deal with this and did you end up fixing it?

I’m stuck on the dinosaur bone collectibles in Red Dead Redemption 2. The last bone (#19) near Cumberland Falls, south of Valentine (Heartlands, New Hanover) appears inside a rock wall, but I can’t interact or inspect it.

I have found and mailed 29 out of 30 bones. I’m currently in Epilogue 2 with no active Stranger missions. I’ve tried sleeping several days, changing regions, and returning, but the bone remains stuck inside the wall and won’t let me inspect it.

I don’t have any older save files and I don’t want to restart the game. Has anyone encountered this glitch or found a fix?

Can anybody explain to me the hunting of small creatures and predators? I'm looking for perfect pelts but don't have a single clue on how to hunt a rabbit or a squirrel like that. My most used weapons for bigger animals is the springfield rifle and bow.

As for predators I don't have a single clue on how to find and hunt bears.

bears and such got their area which is marked on the map, but i think they are more north. And for those you best use a strong sniper, and always aim for the head. Otherwise the pelt wont have 3 stars, that is if the bear you are killing even is a 3 star animal. You can see that by zooming into an animal with binoculars. For squirrels you should use the varmint rifle, or in general for smaller animals.

Is varmint rifle really needed if I already got the springfield?

I killed a dozen of squirrels and smaller animals in general and always somehow ruin the 3 star rating

I even hit them with arrows in the head but the quality was still ruined.

thats is because for smaller animals you need smaller callibers. You know, for not destroying the little animals entirely.

Depends on the bird. A small game arrow might not take out an eagle with one shot

But yes varmint rifle is helpful too as the arrows don’t have great range

after you study an animal it will tell you exactly what kind of weapon to use

you can either use the "study" option while looking at one and itll pop up on your screen or you can go check the compendium entry if youve already studied it

i dont think the sidearms are suitable for any type of animal

Ahhh I see... When I enter deadeye, red areas on the animals are deadly and will cause the best pelt??

Also, is there some areas where higher quality animals can be found?

you can also see what quality they are just by studing their tracks

You'll be able to get it just check your inventory make sure you dint have it already if you don't try closing the game load back in and if you still can't find it go sleep a couple times
