ANYWAYS, I made my sachel of the east last night! I watched a couple youtube videos on where to find the last two animals that I couldn't find - cougar and badger. Once you learn where they spawn and how to make things respawn by sleeping and waiting in-game hours, it's not that hard to get your perfect hides for the satchel.

I may go ahead with finishing Chapter 3 now. My biggest question which I'll search for today is: are there things I should do as Arthur now that I might not be able to do later. I'm not being more specific as I don't want to leave spoilers.
Some games have notorious parts that can no longer be accomplished after a certain point. I want to try to find out before I do 52%-100% main story completion

I’ve been meaning to try and avoid all the stranger missions I can so John can do them, or at least whichever ones he can do. I’ve probably missed a ton of dialogue doing all the stranger missions as Arthur

Haven’t spent a ton of time as John, really only on one playthrough, and I don’t have the save anymore so I’m working on that now.. nearing the end of chapter 4, I have mixed emotions haha

Varmint rifle for rabbits, beavers, all big rodents etc
Small game arrows for snakes & birds & all small rodents like squirrels & chipmunks
The arrows are a pain so if you have the buck antler trinket crafted you can use the varmint rifle on 3 star small animals & 2/3 times it’ll still give a 3 star pelt/carcas

and btw if you wanna take down giant animals like bison you need a rifle and express cartridges

Try restarting the game, activate eagle eye ( press down on the mouse wheel or press caps ) and look for a highlighted silouette of a massive unit of a fish in the water. Then simply bait up with the lure, throw it near and it should bite down

If that doesnt work, I got no clue

yea u have to do a specific path and disarm a specific odriscoll and have him chase you around until you find micah which is when he can get disarmed

but it makes micah extremely vulnerable

since instead of using his other gun he uses a melee weapon
