1. go up to a legendary animal spot (top left will say “you have now entered legendary animal territory”)
2. use eagle eye and look around for what looks like a bunch of dots floating up
3. go up to it (its an interact-able item) and youll get a prompt to search for the clue
4. repeat it 3 times and then then animal will spawn on the 4th time

also for legendary animals and ruining their coat, dont worry, just shotgun them, no matter how you kill them, their coat wont ruin

Litchfield with express rounds do just fine. Get about 50yrds between you and pop him in the face and when he charges let loose on him. I’ve done a few of them and nothing is as fast or efficient and you don’t gotta let him get that close

I just beat it for the first time and my biggest tip would be don’t worry about it

The worlds too big for you to get preoccupied with completion and truly experiencing EVERYTHING the game has to offer

it’s impossible

just enjoy the game

the great thing about the story especially is that the main missions and a lot of the side missions too even teach you game mechanics along the way

so long story short try not to worry about it just focus on enjoying the game and story writing

it’s a beautiful game

you can go back and do the completionist playthrough after but I’d say for the first playthrough just focus on enjoying the story

there's something really powerful about seeing him from 4 to 19 years old, from a child learning to read from hosea and abigail to a vengeful young man who's forgotten what they desperately wanted him to become

the rest of my top 10 would be charles, bonnie, lenny, hosea and edith downes

edith downes probably the most underrated alongside jack

abigail and bonnie are both really solid, but i think bonnie leaves a stronger impression and is a great intro character for rdr1

i used a couple of mods to disable the new austin/blackwater lockdown (as well as the sniper) so that the whole map is explorable as early as chp. 2. however, none of the blackwater buildings (with the exception of the saloon and the bank b/c of a mod) that are accessible as john are available

is there a way to do this? i've had a look for mods as well as through rampage trainer and i cant find anything (regarding unlocks, "tricking" the game to thinking im in a different chapter, manually unlocking, etc)

I feel blackwater was more of the start, then everything that went wrong just drove most of them to the breaking point, years on the run, losing so many close friends they considered family, the pressure of cornwall and the pinkertons, so many factors went into the gang breaking apart

i think the implication is nobody in the gang has died yet prior the blackwater heist, but after the failed robbery davey, mac, jenny and (at the time) sean were thought to be dead or taken away by the law. it seems like before chapter 1 everybody was losing their optimisim and hope in the gang

would be nice if rdr3 takes place before this where everybody was in good spirits and having 100% faith in the cause.

so i dont think sean dying was when the gang started falling apart, sean's death just amplifies the desperate situation the gang was already in

and then each death afterwards took that faith hope and spirits down and down even more

its a okay idea but it doesnt benefit the redemption storyline, i think mac's redemption story could benefit the whole narrative, we dont know much about mac so that leaves room for creative ideas.

People's biggest complaint about New Austin is Armadillo I'm pretty sure

In RDR1 John mentions not recognizing Armadillo

Having it be a full town with missions would've required a significant retcon

Sheriff Freeman is an excellent character, and I really like how Tumbleweed nails the old west frontier town feel

It's on the very edge of civilization

And the hidden poker room in the saloon is really cool

New Austin is exactly what the Van Der Linde gang dreamed of

And it fits the themes just how underwhelming, even isolating that dream is in reality

It's historically accurate too, industrialization rapidly arrived in places like arizona in the years before ww1

westward expansion is what made armadillo into a boom town and tumbleweed into a ghost town

just camping out in New Austin, especially in online, is incredibly immersive

my hottest take is that I prefer New Austin to West Elizabeth (and obviously Ambarino)

Blackwater is nice enough, but I don't like Strawberry

It's only a slight preference, but the truly western feel of New Austin can't be beaten

New Hanover has a lot more to do, but you can feel the encroaching civilization

they should of cut out new austin and leave west elizabeth in imo, new austin is cool and all but it doesnt have anything interesting going for it and it doesnt line up with john's story. maybe just have extremely ruthless bandits coming after you if you step foot in it, like how pinkertons are with blackwater

i think in terms of retcons making armadillo a cholera infested ghost town was a good compromise

and the strange man easter eggs were great

personally the biggest wasted opportunity in rdr2 isn't armadillo, but annesburg

I think each bar of speed stat is 0.7% so the difference is small enough to not care about it the slowest horse is just ~4% slower than the fastest horse
