Holy god damn I ran into him again (old horse racer, 3rd race I've ever come across and in he epilogue) I dont care if he shoots his horse this disproves multiple theories that people have online

1. John can get more than 2 horse races after the epilogue
2. There isn't a specified point where a racer will spawn, they actually appear nearly anywhere in a "state"
3. You don't need to beat all 3 racers for the speed boost

Additionally, by shooting the horse by accident because you cant aim, you can both save the horse and not kill the old rider

well, i fixed it by trying them again, and again, about 5 attempts of eating each berry with proper wait times in between. gg perseverence pays off

I would recommend the Rolling Block, you can get it for free and it literally kills any big targets with one head tap; when you can only carry one animal, one shot isn't much of an issue as a clean kill

You really want to avoid using repeaters, but most rifles work for anything that isn't a bear or bison

Use varmint rifles for anything slightly above or close to the size of a rabbit

Use small game arrows on anything that's tiny

These are general rules, you can use the in-game compendium to figure out the intricacies

Depends what you mean by bigger game. For Moose and Bears, I'd recommend the Rolling Block Rifle, but for Deer and what not, just the Springfield is great.

and i feel it depends on the situation, if we're talking super long range i'll go bolt but if theres a lot of enemies at mid-long range i'll use a repeater

If you mean the raccoon hat you see on the guy at the Valentine bar, you have to kill the guy and pick it up to acquire it. He will not respawn afterwards.

Also, if you mean another hat, you have to donate/sell them to the trapper to use.

• Replay the story but slowly progressing and then in between missions doing shit so i can 100% the game

Don’t burn yourself out on the game because you’ll get bored of it and lose interest for a while. Either way, just make sure to not take it too fast, but at your own speed.
