PDO is life. It's good for general gameplay, but if you use other mods to turn off weapon damage, you can commit any npc to a lifetime of choking on their own jugular.
excessive violence aside, The INI configs are super granular and the hotkeys to toggle are great as well. Haven't tried the euphora recreation, but from reviews it seems less of a hit

this is probably #1 reason I recommend Ped Damage Overhaul (or crime law rebalance) because you have to treat every bullet hitting you like a real bullet. Same for the enemy, but it takes a lot more cunning and skill to go 1 v 20

I highly recommend the crime/law rebalance as well, it complements PDO in terms of difficulty and enemy loot. Prevents chains of witnesses and instant wanted in the wilderness. Pinkertons wont drop worn weapons etc. Another essential IMO without breaking immersion, also configurable

chain of witness is like if you're in town and you commit any type of crime, there will only be 1 witness (not 3 or however many saw you), and subduing that witness or convincing them to zip it won't spawn 3 more witnesses. It increases realism outside of town, as in the original version you can rack up crazy bounties and witnesses off a podunk trail...
