I just got insanely lucky. I'm southeast of the braithewaite manor at like... 2am (game time) looking for a perfect panther. I see an unidentified hostile animal near me on the minimap, so I turn to it, use deadeye, and kill it with a single improved arrow. I manage to mark it in my compendium. It's a panther, and a perfect one, at that.

Not only did I manage to kill a panther with the one bow I had, but it was pitch black, so I could barely see what I was aiming at, AND it was a perfect pelt.

I had a $5 bounty in Haven or whatever and I come across a cop on horseback, before I can even stop to talk to him as he says, I'm immediately getting blasted and I'm forced to kill the dude and now I'm at a $45 bounty. You can start it off with his childhood and him meeting Hosea and Arthur. Then you can show us the rest of the gang and how they meet Dutch. Then directly after Arthur’s death where we see how the rest of the gang splits off up until planning to kill Micah, 1899-1907, then how Dutch formed the gang with the natives from 1807 -1811

some people say it was Hosea keeping him in check all the time and Micah just filled that void

some people say that it was head trauma from Saint Denis (which is hinted by the game)

a nice detail is how when john is up at mount hagen and asks dutch why he's there, he says same as you, implying that he was always going to shoot micah and take the money

He had no way out. Hosea is dead. Arthur is dying, he thinks John is a rat and Arthur is defending him which makes Dutch think Arthur has turned. Micah sees vulnerability and jumps on it immediately. Dutch was sus of Micah in the beginning but later on Micah was able to manipulate Dutch due to his mental defense being weakened

Dutch is not a narcissist. He was a man that truly cared about his people. He couldn’t stand big government civilization taking over, he tried to fight it. He slipped up, everything went downhill and it make him lose his mind. Then after chapter 6, he reflected on everything that has happened. Realized he was a fool, came to his senses, and plotted to kill Micah. That’s why he was up there at Mt. Hagan. When Arthur laid dying and said “I gave you everything I had” it snapped Dutch and he realized he was wrong, and that Micah was the rat but he was too ashamed and broken to do anything about it. That realization made him speechless. All he could do is walk away. If you remember there is camp dialogue where Dutch tells Arthur “I gave you all I had”

He told Ross he would kill him before he would ever kill Dutch. John had to do it for his family

Stupid Dutch was really great and caring in chapter 1. Almost impressed me. Then every time he opens his mouth and makes a plan, it's a freaking disaster, by end of chapter 2 I couldn't stand him anymore, everything he touched turned to melted crap, kept aggravating me as I wanted to have a fun playthrough and he just brought shyte. To the point I was wondering why is anybody following this douche, they'd all be better off on their own, or together without his neverending BS.

But quite frankly, and to me that is the weaker part of the story, the way Arthur "turned" on him, not in the sense that he betrayed him but that he got fed up with his nonsense, felt a bit off and unjustified. I would have hoped for either a sudden breaking point (like, ok that's enough now) or a crescendo build-up type of resentment. What we have in the story is kindof a mix of the two, and I couldn't really put 2 and 2 together, especially how Arthur got really mad at Dutch during the Native Americans mission. Like careful spoiler you have no problem with Dutch orchestrating a massacre in Blackwater, you have no issue dynamiting a bridge to bring a full train down the scenery, but Dutch strangling an rotten old witch or playing with the Natives infuriates you??? really? ok, then one can argue it's not only Dutch that changed, it's also Arthur.

an idea for sure

but it might not carry as much weight because the main point of rdr2 is how you create a really strong bond with the gang as you play

so having a dlc focused on 1 character kind of loses that factor

and creating that same feeling in a dlc would be quite the hefty task for rockstar, resources would be better placed in another game that would have more reach and sell better
