What is wrong with my game?! I'm doing the mission where you speak to Rains Fall, and go and get his thingy from the soldiers' camp. I saw that there was a lot of them in the small camp, so I was going to kill them to get the stuff without being shot at. I kill one guy, and lose like... an entire honour level for it. ONE GUY.

Not sure, but just go around the back side of the camp and wait till you dont see any guards looking around the middle area of the camp
you can get the items without any violence, get some nice alternative dialogue with Rains Fall
im guessing you can probably do that, what i did was sneak to the boxes beside a tent close to the horses, the horses got spooked, a guard went to check them out and i went past him after he went past the boxes and i grabbed the stuff and left

Fair. This is the second time I've lost a huge amount of honour for killing one or two people. I know Arthur becomes a bit of a better person during Ch6, so is it maybe that the further you progress in the story (if you have high/max honour) doing bad things increases the amount of honor you lose?

Lenny joined the gang around 1 year before the the events of rdr2. When doing a stagecoach robbery with him in chapter 4 Arthur tells him “you ain’t even 20 years old yet”. As for the robberies, the ones we see him do is the train robbery in chapter 1, the Valentine bank robbery in chapter 3, an optional stagecoach robbery in chapter 4, the trolley station robbery in chapter 4, and the Saint Denis bank robbery which cost him his life. As for before he joined the gang, we don’t know much about his past robberies other than the fact that he killed the man that killed his father
