you can narrow down the cause of the crash by taking a look in windows Event Viewer. the most recent Error event should be from RDR2, and you can find out what failed from the message following. one thing to keep your eyes peeled for is the Event Module name, since that's usually the file that is causing the crash

i mod singleplayer and found out that an outdated version.dll file was the cause of my weird error-less CTDs with the help of event viewer

that may be an option for all players

all I know is for Chapter 5, your arsenal is limited to the Cattleman Revolver, Bolt Action Rifle, and Double Barrel shotgun, except for one mission which allows you to use a Carbine repeater (but your bolt rifle and double barrel shotgun are given back after)

and that one mission, you can get the lancaster and rolling block

but tbh, just easier if you stick too cattleman, bolt action, and double barrel
