Was on my way to get that white horse apparently the best one in game and my horse died on the way there, its my first time playing rdr2

So I carried my saddle half way across the map cause my path was no where near a town nor did I pass any wild horses. Didn't have the option to switch to Mt winter clothes so had to constantly use tonics to keep from freezing to death. 33 mins later I stop to help a dude being attacked by 2 wolf's I kill 1 wolf just for the other to kill me...

No. It probably just ran away but died anyway. The pelt gets automatically transferred to the trapper if you lose it. You receive none of the money you would normally get if you took it to him yourself though

Honor is only capped at the maximum negative or maximum positive. The best way to get your honor up is to just ride around the world and look for random encounters and then do the nice thing. They don’t get it up a whole lot but a lot of little points add up to a lot. Another thing that really gets your honor up significantly is doing the nice thing in story missions. You can also get your honor up by donating money to the donation box at camp but that’s only if you have the money or valuables to spare.
