My favourite theory about rdr3 is that you play as Mac and start the Game before the blackwater heist idk if long before or like 2-3 days before , cause the game could be primarly played before the blackwater heist and the blackwater thing would be like a exit to an epilogue , but after the heist mac actually escapes milton and then he like lives in a completely different part , it would be good for the gameplay after the story cause u need some sort of time frame for free roam like in rdr2 before John is forced to kill the gang and in rdr1 after John dies , if the game was about the blackwater heist or ENDED after it there would be no time frame for a free roam segment the game would have to end like in the mafia series ….
