I'm excited to join such a dedicated and professioal community. I am a medical laboratory science employee working out of RUSH in Chicago. I graduated with my BS in 2021 and recieved my MLS(ASCP) certification. I had a 3.3 GPA coming out of undergrad and I am looking to take my MCAT in the fall of this year. Is it ideal to retake courses that I did poor in before I start my application process, or should I just aim to get a higher percentile score on the MCAT? I know every school varies and observes multiple factors. After much debate with myself though, I keep telling myself if it's not in the cards to retake classes I've done poorly in, then maybe I should go for a Master's and add some research experience? What do you guys think? Any tips, recommendations, or opinions would be much appreciated! Thank you!

Hi, fellow Chicagoan here too : ) Some schools may not accept C-‘s or lower, so if you did get anything lower than a C in your prereq’s, it might be a good idea to do an SMP to get a good baseline for the MCAT while improving your GPA too. There are a ton of great post-bac programs in Chicago
Sorry for the late response, but thank you so much for the feedback!! Also, SMP?
