I am switching from a laptop to a PC and I have a 5000 US dollar budget, What should I get?
I know some about PC parts, I am thinking about 9800x3d + 5090
The things I am concerned about is:
memory price is high right now
New released GPU and CPU next year, should I wait?

if US, do you live near a microcenter

also u dont rlly need a 5090, a 5080 is enough

#

but with that budget, u can make the best of the best

imma see if i can hook u up with a 9950x3d too

#

i managed to make a build under 5k ith it so microcentermay be cheaper

98*

performance wise, beside cooling, cant get much better

#

Meaning theres no need to go for astrals or lower ram timings etc

#

or a 9950x3d

Thank you very much, this build is perfect

#

I really appreciate your help

also for gaming, i dont see much of a diff between 9950x3d and 9850x3d but u can upgrade for more cores

If u want dram then sure

And rated speeds don't mean jack shit

+the 5090 isn't actually in stock

And how does the nand type not matter

winged island
#

Then what do you classify as a good ssd? What, its color or something?

#

Unless ur talking about random IOPs, which contribute mostly to booting the pc

Just realized he sent an ssd with the exact same specs, same TBW everything, but youre paying $55 extra for 100k more random read speed, im sleep

Whats even crazier is youre paying extra for the ps5 logo. The sn850x is the same thing

and no, we arent paying for a ps5 logo, its just the ssd that makes the most sense to get

#

you are clueless about ssds

Furthermore, tell me when it dies

You know the only reason the drive keeps up is mostly because of the DRAM cache

#

Its literally brtter in every aspect

#

Furthermore, youre getting down into the very technical aspects for that price gap, and the dude jus tryna play games too

#

DRAM isnt needed if thats also what u wanna say.

winged island
#

"They dont have the same controller" no shit, ones micron the other is wd

#

One is black and white the other is black

#

Either ways, the OP is doing his thing, I really dont get why u had to push ur mouth in for no reason. You argue that nand type doesnt matter but it does. I dont feel like explaining to you but Id give you homework. Research about the bits per cell, P/E cycles, density and its sustainability after SLC cache.

You argue that read and write doesnt matter then wanna compare controllers. The WD has more channels, yes, thats why its output is higher in read and write, but its slower NAND is the reason why the patriot ssd keeps up with it for a lower price. For gaming, you also dont need all that read and write. The RANDOM IOPS are about the same too.

DRAM doesnt matter for gaming, some say this is subjective but it isnt. HMB is more than enough mr ssd professional

cuz i doubt u have that

And Im literally proving to you how your ssd literally matches up to the worst version of mine this entire time

#

Furthermore, I already told you what to do, go do your homework. Ive showed you why you calling the ssd shit was unnecessary

#

And then proceeded to send an ssd that should be "shit" in your eyes too

azure mountain
#

both are kinda irrelevant when p5 plus is $200 for 2tb KEKW

azure mountain
#

no reason to go 78x3d here

winged island
#

Because the PE cycles on the QLC version of the ssd is shit

azure mountain
#

oh also

#

in stock

azure mountain
#

get a nice 4k oled with the rest of the money whoa

guys can we all agree there is no bad 2tb m.2 in this market... just get what you can 😭 🙏

#

prices are bad enough, people are resorting to 500gb nvmes these days
