#360hz black screen no signal

having a very frustrating issue, i have a 25XV2Q F 360hz monitor however whenever i switch refresh rate above 280hz it black screens and loses signal. I have a 1.4 vesa certified display port cable. The monitor worked fine at 360hz on my set up but on my friends set up it just black screens (they have a 3060) same displayport cable

usually its the cable or the connection to the port

since you've already ruled that out, i suggest doing a firmware update on you monitor

  • download new firmware/drivers from acer website (if newer are available [check manufacture date of the monitor for a relative measure])
  • load onto usb and plug in usb into the monitor
  • now navigate to update firmware on your monitor and select the usb device

if this does not fix it, I suggest updating your gpu's drivers from nvidia's game ready drivers sections, and also checking if your pc's bios and drivers are upto date.

none of these fixes worked :( i think the display port port is fucked
