#PC randomly shutting down

PC (R5 3600, GTX 1660S) randomly shutting down after ~30-40 mins of being on

What I know:

  • PC shuts down after some time even when idle (i.e no stress from gaming or such)
  • when it shuts down I can't turn it back on immediately, I have to unplug and replug the power strip before it can boot again
  • nothing unusual in event logs once I turn it back on, which is why I assume it's hardware
  • there hasn't been any power fluctuations in my area, so it's not that.

What I tried:

  • replacing the power strip. This worked for a couple days until it literally didn't just now
  • I'll try repasting the CPU once I'm done with work today, though I checked thermals and temps were about as "idle" as you get

What’s your whole spec including brands? Could be a power supply issue

Also no idea what a power strip refers to
