What type of pc crash is this?

I was playing cod and everything froze, monitors went (grey/black) and I waited a few minutes for anything to change but it stayed like that

It’s been happening frequently I’m wondering if this is a normal crash and nothing like a hardware issue - (i restarted but not sure what is causing monitors/everything to be unresponsive)

I get a lot of crashes specifically on cod. - other games tho it’s not often. I think my usb storage was causing crashes/issues so I took that out

I mainly play aimlab/Kovaak so those are very lightweight games

Not sure. I feel like the usb storage was causing issues related to the crash but I really don’t know

I only have gaming clips on that USB so I just threw all my clips to the main SSD

is not a problem but one thing, when you did ddu you let windows do the drivers for you?

I followed a tutorial on YouTube, so I did it in safe mode + disabled wifi

okay perfect because on my pc windows installed me a driver on my gpu that was crashing on cs2 lol

but not like full black screen

just crash

and back to the desktop lol

was a ram related issue

is your ram

my old ram was ddr3

well i got crashing and all that i got fixed just downloaded a older version of amd drivers idk about newer gpus but my rx 580 on older drivers right now is working perfectly with no crashing

but remember if you download older amd drivers

you need to disable

that thing

on windows

that do don't download new drivers for you

I can do the ddu fine, I’m worried if it’s a windows issue, corruption on windows

Yea everything on both monitors freeze, can’t move mouse, audio plays - then disconnects shortly after, and monitors go grey/black

then you can redownload windows just in case

like is drivers related or windows when these things happen

or you can do another thing

reset your CMOS

battery

just remove your CMOS battery from the pc but remember to be fully turned off

and stay like 3-4 minute's

and put it back

can i just do it through bios? reset to default? does the same thing generally?

remove all your pc cables turn fully your pc

open the glass panel

you gonna see a small battery

remove it for 2-4 minutes

I dropped cmos on motherboard but should be good surely

even if is on is not a problem

then try it and see if the problem is fixed if not then reinstall windows sadly
