If so, its a dns issue most likely
So try pinging discord.com, youtube.com, etc
If that works, your computer isnt communicating with this one microsoft server for some reason
yes I can ping them
Alright, if pinging domains works, try pinging:
msftconnecttest.com
msftncsi.com
dns.msftncsi.com
Also try going to http://www.msftconnecttest.com/connecttest.txt
If you can access it, your windows is bugged but you otherwise should be able to access most services and websites
If you cant, your windows may still be bugged but you might also have a network level issue
Linus discussed it on wan show, apparently you can modify your hosts file to point that domain to your localhost (127.0.0.1)
can’t connect to this website
But you can access other sites right?
Are you on any kind of vpn?
used to but I deleted both of them via revo
One sec
Can you show the output of netstat -rn in cmd or powershell? Might neet to be admin
None of the addresses it will show are identifiable to you
I’ve done all netsh commands, restores hosts file, all ipconfig commands etc.
I'm aksing you to show your routing table
Weird
At this point if other devices on your network are working, I think it's time to do a real reset from a flash drive. This does mean it'll get wiped
not an option.
Why not?
I’ll have to redo all my game settings again downloaded hundreds of gbs of games and debloat etc etc etc
to much work.
The alternative to that is you don't have internet on it
what else can I do.
At best you're having a driver issue, but you said you've already gone through the wringer which implies you've reinstalled your driver already
I blocked a ton of microsoft services via firewall
Second best option is your physical wifi adapter is dead
no it works on my laptop.
If it was working after you did that, then it isn't the problem
it was
What?
Ethernet isn't working in windows?
And you have reinstalled all drivers?
idk the drivers for my ethernet
Its just in device manager
it’s Realtek PCIE GbE Family Controller
Uninstall from there, and if it doesn't auto reinstall then look up your motherboard on another computer and download the drivers from the support page
my motherboard is b450mhp
Yeah that's your ethernet, uninstall it and the wifi driver
You need to have the wifi adapter plugged in
should I delete driver software to or
You can check event viewer too, but no guarantees it'll have anything useful
You can, typically doesn't affect anything
what to check in event viewer
System logs, warning error and critical
99% of warnings mean nothing, and most errors also don't mean anything
Irrelevant
when I synchronise my clock it doesn’t work
We've already established its a DNS issue
does that matter
oop gtg
@vague stream can you show me your ipv4 settings
If you can ping 8.8.8.8 but can't resolve names your DNS resolution is messed up
problem fixed
What was the problem
Never say "problem fixed" without sharing HOW you fixed the problem.
@vague stream The fact that you put on a wilted rose reaction instead of responding is flat out childish
