Steams built in streaming
I never had much luck with Steam's streaming. Moonlight + Sunshine worked much better
Is it as easy to start? Like for steam streaming I don’t have to be home my pc just has to be on
You set up an account. You install Sunshine on the desktop and have it running, it just sits down in the system tray. Run Moonlight on the device you want to stream to, log in, then click on the desktop in Moonlight. Done.
I have got it working but how do I stop streaming? If I press to home button and quit moonlight my virtual display stays on my pc
it only pauses the stream
Nvm figured out the combination to stop streaming but the virtual display stays how can i turn it off without restarting pc
And also disconnect display is not an option so my monitors stay on if I connect
Right, that's a bit annoying.
In the Moonlight app, you select the PC and then select "End Stream"
I stream to my living room TV (It just runs natively on Android TV) and it's pretty annoying when I turn off the TV, go the PC to sit there and the stream is still active, hijacking audio.
So I have to go back, turn on the TV, open Moonlight and end the stream
I have everything working perfectly, except if remote wake my pc it doesn’t sign in so I still have to turn my pc on before I leave. Is that fixable
I made a local account without a password/pin on the remote box I have. It's not a good solution, I was just lazy. Haven't looked into anything else.
Can this be used anywhere or only when connected on the same WIFI? It’s not working rn at someone else’s house
The stream or turning on the PC?
Both remotely. Can I both start the pc and stream from it when I’m not home
I can do both at home
Yes, but it's a pain in the ass to set up magic packets over WAN last I checked.
Streaming should be possible, but Moonlight isn't really made for it so you need to do a lot of setup
