I recently changed motherboards as my old motherbaord had a damaged ram slot and I could only use one stick of ram. I swapped my "B459 gaming pro carbon max wifi" to a "ASUS TUF Gaming B550-PLUS WiFi II" and i've tried both the old and new wifi antennas, while the internet speed isn't really and issue as it has gone from 900mbps to 500mbps, the ping is an issue because it's idle ping on speetest.net has gone from 7 to 31, which is causing issues in games, does anyone know why this could have happened or how to fix it? before and after for reference

How do I check?

smoky stirrup
#

what one did you connect to

#

many modems have 2 networks to you can pick what band

civic musk
#

Oh the channel is 5GHz

smoky stirrup
#

depending on a few config that your new board dose not list your old board wifi dose apare to have better chip/config

civic musk
#

So the best option would be to try route Ethernet then?

smoky stirrup

All motherboard are different. Just because two boards have wifi6, doesn't mean you will get the same speed. Hell, just about everyone on a board can interfere with the signal to some degree. Some boards are just faster. Some are slower but have a better signal. You can always try a wifi dongle, or just plug it in manually and be done with it.
