I recently changed motherboards as my old motherbaord had a damaged ram slot and I could only use one stick of ram. I swapped my "B459 gaming pro carbon max wifi" to a "ASUS TUF Gaming B550-PLUS WiFi II" and i've tried both the old and new wifi antennas, while the internet speed isn't really and issue as it has gone from 900mbps to 500mbps, the ping is an issue because it's idle ping on speetest.net has gone from 7 to 31, which is causing issues in games, does anyone know why this could have happened or how to fix it? before and after for reference
#swapped motherboard and now my wifi speed has gone down 400mbps

yay we both in WA
im actually in sa, i don'y know why it connects to wa servers
try using the Adelaide server then
how is it worse on the closer server
and no VPN?
just as note about how easy wifi is to mess up
your next door neighbour can mess it up
I know, but I still get the great connection on my phone, but since swapping motherboard my pc connection has gone to shite
or I mean the ping on my phone is worse but I get the full download speed
wdym
and ethernet out of qestion?
I mean not completely out of the question but it's kinda awkward to route it through my house
are you using same band?
that good way to brake things
what band you using?
my old motherboard was msi but my new one is asus
like 2.4ghz 5ghz 6ghz
How do I check?
Oh the channel is 5GHz
depending on a few config that your new board dose not list your old board wifi dose apare to have better chip/config
So the best option would be to try route Ethernet then?
well do you care about slighty slower speed?
or you want BEST
it's more so the ping is the issue, it took me from 60 to 130
like on games
wow that so low
on dayz I was getting 60 ping before motherboard swapping, and after I get 130
not the biggest difference but it's noticable
hay ping google.com 100 times
how do I set it to ping it 100 times
ping -n 100 google.com in cmd

oh wait im meant to add ping
im slow mb
i've swapped to ethernet though, i'll unplug it after the 100 pings with it and test with wifi
it fixed the download speed
even when wifi getting good bandwith its ping is often unreliable/inconstant
phone getting 71 idle to 262 loaded
vs 30 idle 70 loaded
that around what i expected
wifi so far is 68-72
with spike to 150
the 100 pings with wifi
thats good for wifi
yeah but idk why my in game ping is horrid now
All motherboard are different. Just because two boards have wifi6, doesn't mean you will get the same speed. Hell, just about everyone on a board can interfere with the signal to some degree. Some boards are just faster. Some are slower but have a better signal. You can always try a wifi dongle, or just plug it in manually and be done with it.
Turn off gigabit lite in device manager it caps speeds to half a gig. Ultra low power mode and so on. If you don't see those options download Intel update utility assistant and get the latest drivers that it finds.
Thank you kind sir, I shall try this tomorrow and report back as it is 1 am and I'm about to go to bed
okay so all this was off, it is just the motherboard rip, im just gonna use ethernet
