#What part for my PC should I get with a budget of $100 to improve FPS?

The first things to upgrade is your hhd and cpu.
CPU isn't gonna do much without a new MB, your not gonna get a GPU for 100 or less. Hard drive should be replaced with a ssd it's the craziest upgrade I swear, after that you could consider ram.
Don’t be upgrading this PC
I mean he could if its used
but it wouldn't be worth it
An SSD is unlikely to improve FPS. It will improve your quality of life massively, but not that many games care if it's on an HDD. Some certainly do.
Fire up some of the games you play the most and check the GPU load. If it's close to 100%, you won't gain anything from upgrading the CPU. If it's at 50% load, you could potentiall double the framerate with a better CPU. Though I don't think you can really get much better for just $100, considering that you would need a new motherboard + RAM as well as any proper CPU improvement would use DDR4.
Sell your MoBo CPU RAM bundle, and you can try to find B450 3600 16gb RAM, swap the 3050 to RX5700XT
LOL sell your whole PC and find better one
More modern games are caring more and more about being on ssds
so im taking the fact that back in 2016 my pc would be considered a nasa pc?
A NASA PC? What do you mean?
like those intel i9 5090 rtx's with like a gold 1200W psu
but from back in 2016
because of the parts
but 2016, still very very powerful for a gaming pc those days
especially with a 3050 rtx, intel i7 4770, which is only like a 2-3 year old processor then which would still be good
so thats why im asking
is it like a nasa pc from 2016?
or like low-high end gaming pc?
from 2016?
cause shi i know the parts are old
but its the best pc ive kinda had
never had anything past a 1650 asus rog zephyrus from 2020 or 2021
and this is my first pc in general
but i know quite a bit about pc's
i decided to learn a lot about them and how to take care of them and upgrade them, but come to discord servers like this one if i ever do need help.
i decided to do that before i get a pc, so i dont blaintly do something wrong'
honestly quite interested to learn more tbh
Oh I get what you're trying to say: is it an older "high end" PC from X years ago? Yes, sort of. The 4th gen i7-4770K and i7-4790K CPUs were amazing for their time. In fact, I still ran my i7-4790K system up until Fall 2022, eight years after its release.
However, as with all things, there are only so many upgrades you can make before the platform itself becomes too old to receive any meaningful upgrades. What we're trying to say here is that while your PC has done well, it's now over 12 years old, so you're better off putting your money towards a platform upgrade: CPU, Motherboard, RAM.
I had a 4770k, I read a review. Said save money over the 4790k as all their testing chips oc’d to 4790k performance. Was great.i should have got the 4790k and read the review on that, as it oc’d stupidly further than I could have expected at the time 😂
If you want to spend $100 or less, I'd say get an SSD for your boot drive. Everything else would be too expensive to upgrade right now
Aight
I wouldn't even do that at this point its just a bit of a waste.
an SSD you can at least transfer to a future build, and it will definitely feel faster to load games from it vs a HDD
Sure but at this point spending 40 to 80 dollars now might be kind of fruitless since they should at least factor out a budget for a new system before considering spending money on the current system.
maybe, but we don't actually know how much they're willing to spend, and imo an SSD is worth it even on an older PC
like when I upgraded my mom's old laptop from HDD to SSD, it really did make a huge difference and made it feel snappier/more responsive
How old is your mom's laptop?
it's an i7-5500U which originally booted from a 2.5'' HDD. It's mostly used now for emails, paying bills, and online shopping lol
