#ROG flow X13 with DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR

Just got this laptop not long ago, I've tried every fix to this

I've also done long stress tests and went to using Linux for some time and it works absolutely fine

But the moment I launch Roblox Studio SPECIFICALLY, it instantly crash with the said error no matter what I try, it only works with igpu only

It also happens to several other steam games but usually only once and not again

Additional note, the 3050 in this laptop is render-only

Individual stress test on both igpu and dgpu shows no signs of hardware fault(no artifacting, crashing, etc)

Laptop is a ROG flow x13 2021(Ryzen 9-5900hs,rtx 3050)

Currently as far as I know, this is also something to do with Asus themselves screwing up drivers, but I want your opinions on this

Been posting to reddit for help but to no avail so I thought of trying this

Checking bsod logs with WhoCrashed shows watchdog.sys in all reports and only 1 with Nvidia driver

Use WinDbg if you want to look at it yourself. Free from the Windows Store.

If the laptop is quite new, I would return it. DXGKrnl_Fatal_Error is going to be GPU related. Driver or hardware. So you can try DDU and see if that helps, but on a new laptop there shouldn't be driver issues.

Follow the laptop specific instructions in the sections that have them.

Again, does not seem to be hardware

#

Due to the fact that the 3050 passes through all stress and bench absolutely fine

#

No artifacting nor stutters/crashes

#

But it will throw dxgkrnl whenever I start any games

You can provide the dump files and I can check them in case something else is showing up, but with these crashes that's very rare.

#

Go to C:\Windows\Minidump and check if you have any minidump files. If you do, go back to the Windows folder and copy the Minidump folder itself to the Downloads folder (You can use the desktop if you don't have OneDrive syncing files). Zip the copied folder and attach it to a post.

They all point to the Nvidia driver. If DDU doesn't help you could wipe the drive and reinstall Windows, but a faulty GPU would be the main suspect.

Don't think it's faulty though

Everything runs on it perfectly
