also would the 7700x not be a bit more future proofed just because of the extra two cores

im planning to not upgrade for quite a while

and i mean with a lot of games being more demanding

i feel like the 7700x would be better in the long run

The 7700x and the 9600x run closely to each other, 9600x sometimes outperforming in some games so they're really the same
