You will probably need to update your bios lol. Unless you got a 700 series chipset
Updating is easy though
im just looking for max amount i can get fps i play 1080p since i dont really care about graphics i mainly play rust and escape from tarkov i have 2 moniters my main is a asus rog 240hz from like 6 years ago and second is a 60hz aoc reason i feel like its slow is cause if i want to have a decent fps like 70-80 i need to have all apps closed except discord and i need to do various optimizetions my gpu is running at 30 percent usage while my cpu is around 90 percent my ram is used 20gb of 32 rust is very very cpu heavy my mother board is a asus prime b660m k d4
my current bios should support 13th gen how would i update it safely and would it be worth to be able to have a 14th gen?
if im not wrong i think rust loves single core performance
- Usb formatted to fat32
- Download bios from motherboard support site
- Plug in usb
- Reboot to bios
- Find/search bios update
- Update
Lol fat32
aight i updated my bios now
so looking with your current setup and upgradeing teh cpu to a i9 13900k you would get an average of 87-125 fps at 1080p on rust same if you did the i7 13700k. and also same if yuou did a i9 12900k . you dont see any major fps jumps unless you change graphocs cards if you got a 5070 ti or 5070 or even teh 9070xt you would get you into higher fps. so a 5070 avaragas 114 to 163 fps 5070 ti is 129 to 185 fps 9070 xt would be 105 to 150fps in rust. no bottlenecks. so it all depends on your budget you could easly get a 12900k on clearnce a on walmarts website for the best bang for the buck around $270 bucks
your CPU is pretty solid
I am looking around and rust does seem very CPU heavy
in my opinion probably i7 13700k is your best bet since its easier to cool and cheaper than the i9
and you aren't losing that much performance
i have had multible pc's i main rust and everytime i had always aimed for a strong cpu and it always seems to do the trick with rust my cpu is always pulling heavy loads compared to the gpu there for i think getting a new cpu would be the best choice and getting one with good single core performance is that wrong remember i dont play with good graphics
so the load will be on the cpu for processing other players and ai stufff like that
i have updated my bios so the cpu can be 14th gen aswell
i have been looking at i7-14700kf and a i9 14900kf and then later on chaning out my graphics card
btw thank you guys for your help
ryzen cpu would perform 30-40 fps better than a i9 14900k just saying
in this case its 75 fps better on average
with the 1% lows being doubled
the price of the 7800x3d is significantly lower also, add a few bucks and you got yourself a new motherboard
yeah i regret getting a intel its been a pain in the ass but i just cannot be asked to change out my motherboard my case is very small and cable management takes awhile
🤷♂️
its pretty big difference in my opinion
double the 1% low is noticiable
high refresh rate 1% lows you dont see often
i have a 14900k in my system and have no issues
what should i get i7 14700KF or the i9 14900kf?
what kind of cooler do you have?
so it can kill itself
i am not gonna read all dis but just gonna go off this little short stuff i have seen
meh ama read a bit
if you have a 360 aio go ahead get a 14900k if not 14700k
why tf do you not wanna update the bios
already did it*
why are you looking at the cooler when this is his board
go am5
cause a 14900k runs hot
i see doesnt have the vrm
both ddr4 and the SHIT tier board i would just rec going am5 if that for some reason is not possible 14600k is the best i would go with tbh
wat
edited lol i in the middle of a gamer
well it needs to
but yea no the VRM heatsink for it and the quality of the VRMs on it are not meant for much
so there is no point what is the best cpu for performance to get for my build?
.
"14600k"
and incase i get a new am5 mb witch one it needs to be matx and what processor and ram should i get for it?
how much money
within what you think is reasonable i have no clue what it cost
i cant do much with that
what us the price range for getting these things is it 500 or 700 usd
i have no clue
well its the performance wanted
is it just gaming?
yep only playing rust
omg why tf did you not say that
even a 5600X3D beats the 14900k last time i checked
get a 7800X3D and be happe
thanks im getting a 7800x3d and better ram i think that will make a big diffrence
