I recently picked up a Gigabyte 5080 OC and was wondering if I could do some light to mid overclocking on it. I've been mostly enjoying my 5080, but have noticed some stutters and frame drops in a few games (Monster Hunter Wilds is a standout). I have a spare 7900xtx that I did some comparisons with and it blew the 5080 out of the water in MH, which is odd. By all metrics except VRAM, the 5080 should do far better than a GPU that wasn't as powerful as a 4080 when it came out (By a few margins anyway). Is it really that VRAM is the deciding factor here? Would an overclock even help? I'm fairly technical myself, I have an A+ cert and have a career in IT, but I've never overclocked before and it scares me a bit. Any advice or insight is helpful. Thank you!

why 4 sticks... it triggers me a bit
good i not the only one
Thanks, I'll check it out
I'm actually not. Forgive me if I misunderstand, but if the GPU is pulling in air, why would I want the fans directly in the place where it would be pulling air to blow out the air in the opposite direction?
I do get that 4 is less than optimal for gaming, but it's because I plan on getting more into 3d modelling as I'm taking a class on it. A bit more RAM for rendering and working with larger models.
ok, maybe next time you should consider dual channel if you have the money.
welp awy ahrder to clock memory memory and i seen mann get suck at like ddr5 5200 where 6000+ was not hard before
Mine are clocked to 6000

Now that I'm not too sure. I just made sure XMP was enabled and all
