I haven't looked at laptops in asome time but its time for an upgrade. Can anyone give some suggestions for a laptop that fits these needs?
- good Linux support
- good battery life
- 32gb+ ram
Preferred
- prefer 15" but can make do with 13"
- core/thread count over core speeds
- 2+ nvme slots
Form factor
- slim and light weight. Possibly a 2 in 1 fold like setup. I have an old dell 2 in 1 with touch screen and quite like that style
- might also be good with the tablet style like the surface.
Good gpu is nice but not as important as the others. Mostly this is for web and app development. I also know that Linux and good battery life are sort of mutually exclusive but it is what It is.
I dont do much of any gaming but I am experimenting with LLM like ollama and others. But I also have a homelab app server with a 3090ti kI use as well so a top end gpu in the laptop isn't as critical.
Budget: $1000 - $1500 but lower is better.
Open to suggestions. I am also looking at the framework laptops.
