So for my biuld the gpu is a rtx 5080 it will be inside the corsair 4000d frame argb case with a 360mm corsair aio and a 1000w psu frome be quite I stream and game mainly the games I main are war thunder, ready or not, beamNG,hearts of iron 4,warzone,counter strike, and squad44 if I go with Intel or even amd I do love tweaking my components so both will be ran at higher then stock speeds the ram is ddr5 6400mhz cl32 and the Intel system would be cheaper with a better motherboard
#Should I get a ryzen 7 9800x3d or i9 14900k for my rebuild?

9800x3d
Reasons:
9800X3D is on AM5, while the i9 is on a dead platform.
The i9 runs very hot
Max performance Intel motherboards are generally more expensive
The 9800x3d is current year, while the Core Ultra 9 285k is Intels actual flagship
Yeah ima get it because its pulls 150w less I can get a 850w psu and that brings the price down to a 14900k biuld
Technically the 285k is current gen but its also on a dead platform and the 14900k out performs it
And ill probably buy a higher end b650 board and update bios instead of getting a low end b850
You said you stream and game mainly
So the 9800x3d made sense from that, if you done any sort of productivity then maybe the 14900k
But a 5080 and 9800x3d is perfect for streaming and gaming
I also video edit but nothing crazy just personal videos
The 7800x3d can handle video editing, I'm talking rendering and such type of productivity
3d rendering
Right
Aren't we talking about the 9800 x3d
Lol
Honestly though to save a hundred bucks you could get the 7800x3d. That will still work great for gaming
I really want zen5 just to have a fully current gen pc
I doubt the i9 can be cooled even with liquid nitrogen lol. AMD is the only choice in high end nowadays. You also get way bettet upgrading potential
Okay sounds good
Rn intel is just kinda buns and have low reputation
Good budget graphic cards though
You’d only go the i9 if you want to x264 high graphical games tbfh
I'd say i3s are good
Especially for laptops
most tests are with 6000 c36, 200S boost on core ultra actually does make it competitive with amd
in my opinion if you are doing basically anything outside of gaming get a 265k, else get a 9600x/7600x unless your game benefits from x3d (or you just have money to spend)
So I do stream and video edit but im sure the 9800x3d will be just fine for what I do and I can always upgrade to a 9950x or 9950x3d and sell the r7 for gaming yes games I play will benefit from 3d v cache and I have the money for the 9800x3d so why not
Because im also streaming and editing and when I play games like counter strike I play at 1440p high should I just get a 9950x
Unless you earn money from it… AMD
And I mean like a few grand a month, you live on streaming money. Many streamers won’t and haven’t upgraded from a 14900k simply because it’s still alive or they’re single stream setup and it’s better for editing
9950x is very silly for anything that dose not uses 16 cores
streaming is not very hard on cpu since gpu handels most of work of encoding
True and I have a 5080 so I wont need to rely on the cpu as the 50s has alot of streaming crap biult in
even a 1050ti is fine for encoding a stream
only time you need newer gpu then that is if you want AV1 encoding
Yeah I use the AV1
was it 30 or 40 cards that go av1 idk
30s
30 cards dont have av1 encoding
I find it crazy the gigabyte x870 aorus elite has 8 4 pin fan headers
Oh I thought they did
only decode
Ahh
Then it must have been 40s right now way it took till 50s
