#BSOD when launching BattlEye
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I’ve only ever seen this from people that had a cheat activated that Battleye detected.
could it be that I have a software that is detected as a cheat? any ideas? anything helps
Well it’s a kernel level anti cheat so yes
Whatever drive you saved ur game to is a read-only drive
The program doesn't have permission to write to the drive/folder
That's a memory error, not storage
Attempted_Write_To_Read_Only_Memory.
Tbh I omitted the other obvious. Battle eye out of date
Oh ur right, nvm
@copper flicker I've seen a ton of not just BattlEye BSODs, but general anticheat BSODs. It's very common. The most common is just a broken install, second most common is that because it runs at kernel level and isn't coded very well it can't handle memory errors that well, so a memory issue will often cause much more frequent issues with kernel level anticheats.
assuming the install the games makes me use is broken, is there any way to have a right install and make the game use it?
and assuming its a memory issue (would it be? the rest of my computer is working fine), any ideas on how to fix? other RAM sticks? disable XMP?
Uninstall BattlEye, repair the game or launch the game to have it reinstall it. Not sure which method is used with BE.
The problem with BattlEye is that it can be installed in like 10 different locations. At the same time. So you have to find the correct one
And you might have to remove the BEDaisy.sys driver from the Windows driver directory.
the uninstalling battleye and making the game install it again i already did, no luck with that.
does the BattlEye for game A work for game B too?
i didn't do that, will try now
is it smart to just look for anything named battleye or having something to do with it and delete it?
Depends. It can install under X:\Epic which I assume all Epic games use. It can install in every game directory. Users\Username\Appdata\Roaming and Local.
And probably more
(X means any drive, not the driver letter X)
yeah i figured
i'll try to delete everything i can find
"DRIVER PORTION MUST BE NONPAGED"
just found out another game that uses it, try to open it and yeah i got that, so its def battleye and not just somen specific games
so now there's no single file containing "battleye" in my pc, and I have no games installed in Epic. How do you suggest I proceed?
Repairing the game should reinstall BattlEye. It might have an installer inside the game folder
