when I try to open dell support assist it shows me this

I don't care about dell support assist btw but it's the only way I can get the correct alienware command center app that I need

I already tried reinstalling it and it didn't work
and I tried installing webview 2 but it says it's already there

I'm using a dell g15 5530 laptop with win 11 pro

and when this happened I went back and made it repair itself

Well that'll be your problem. Webview2 is an integral part of Windows that many other apps need to function. If you forcibly try to remove Edge / Webview2 or perform other "debloat" tactics, things may break.

well how to get it back working then?

cunning schooner

Undo whatever it was you did to "debloat" it in the first place. If you don't remember what this was, reinstall Windows from scratch, then DO NOT debloat it next time. 👍

I have already undone it but it's the same

isn't it their own installer?

it says unknown installer

#

it's the microsoft installer installing webview which is a microsoft thing

#

how is it unknown

cunning schooner
#

It doesn't say "Unknown Installer" - it says "Unknown Installer Error", meaning the Error the Installer experienced is Unknown.

#

well how to solve that then

cunning schooner
# dense pike well how to solve that then

#1405027401494298745 message -- I'm not kidding. If you don't remember exactly what was done, and your attempts to undo whatever was done are unsuccessful, your next best option is a complete reinstall of Windows. Otherwise, you might spend literal days troubleshooting, only to reinstall again later anyway.

#

well why don't we think about it in another way

#

is there anyway I can download the alienware cc directly?

#

without microsoft and its stuff

Note: if the Command Center app is just a "re-skinned" version of Dell's Support Assist app, it will likely require Edge / Webview2 in order to function properly.

most of the stuff in it aren't even in the support assist app

Input your Service Tag here, then find the Command Center in the list of Drivers & Downloads. If you want a second set of eyes to look at this, please provide your Service Tag here in the chat and I'll see what my eyes find.

If that doesn't work, either a) the package on Dell's website is borken, or b) your Windows install is borken.

Perhaps you were just trying the wrong version of Command Center then. Who knows. All that matters is it worked. 🙂
