Hi all,

Just finished fitting all the new parts.
New B650 AM5 mb from AM4
New R7 9500
New 32gb DRR5 ( enabled xmp)

Went to go reinstall windows as you should with new major part and now when i finish the first part and reboot. It gives me a black BSOD and restarts and fails the install.

Only error i managed to see was DPC_Watchdog_Violation

I'm really tired guys, any help is appreciated ❤️

I can enter bios and change settings

i havent edited any apart from enabling XMP

#

I have disconnected things 1 by 1 so far, Extra Drives, usb devices

Currently recreating the W11 install usb to see if that will do the trick

Disable XMP for the moment
Watchdog violation often comes due to ram instability

Im assuming is XMP is the root, then faulty ram?

if you bought it new and did not break anything during building the chance they are DOA is very small

#

try disabeling XMP and see if that fixes it

Fairly confident nothing was broken during install and all bought new

I did try it with the new installer and it still failed but with a SYSTEM THREAD EXCEPTION

remove all ram and place 1 stick closes to the cpu and try again

if it does not work use the other ram stick alone in the motherboard

You definitely need BIOS update if you haven't done that already

Though it would be weird for it to even POST on that CPU gen if the BIOS isn't updated

It's on f31, f30 is the minimum for the r7 9000 series apparently

Try running it on the igpu

#

So remove the gpu and use a clean windows install

#

Its horrible to use a new one the whole time but it might take a broken file with it causing it to not work correctly

Because if it crashes during the BIOS update and you don't have flashback, the board could be dead
