I have been considering buying a new monitor for a long time as I have been a 1080p 24" gamer for the longest while. I finally saved up a good amount of money and bought a 4k 32" 240hz QD-OLED monitor. I did do a little bit of research beforehand but was excited and heard that 4k was really amazing. Now, as soon as I bought it, I started seeing hundreds of posts about why 1440p 360hz 27" is better. Stuff like 27" is better for competitive gaming. 1440p results in much more frames, etc.
I have a decent pc, 7900xt, i5 13600kf with 32gb of ddr5. I don't want to become a 60fps gamer though. The thing is, I don't know what games I will play. I will definetely use it more for souls games and rpgs than for competetive, but I will use it for competetive gaming as well. I am also going to watch movies on it (probably not 4k movies though). The monitor I bought is coming tomorrow and I am debating if I should even try it or just send it back and buy the 1440p version of it. It's the philips evnia 8000. It has a 1440p 27" 360hz OLED monitor for 1700sek less (~180USD). I know that I got the 4k monitor at a good deal, so is returning it for the 1440p at 6660sek (~700USD) worth it? Help me decide, as I said it is coming tomorrow from amazon and I feel immense buyers remorse.
