#Network adapter detected, but driver fails
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I found the adapter doing lspci -k. my wifi adapter has consistently fine i haven’t touched any thing in the bios for months. the adapter just stopped being recognized by the system… but is recognized at the same time since the list pci cmd shows it.
ngl im so lost rn, because if it recognizes the adapter via lspci then the adapter isnt fried, but no cmd i try recognize that there is a wifi adapter?? just got more confused
what is the make/model? but it does kind sounds like it's fried...
oh, and if you know make/model, you can figure out if it's using a kernel modules, and lsmod and check for it.
its mt9722 and uses driver mt9721e. found more info after some help after a post i made on reddit but still not solved https://www.reddit.com/r/archlinux/comments/1mb8xja/wifi_adapter_recognized_by_pc_but_not_at_the_same/. tldr dmesg says
mt9721e probe with driver mt9721e failed with error -5```
lsmod says mt9721e is use by 0 and mt9721_common is used by mt9721e and mt972x_lib is used by both
