After a bit of digging it seems my hunch seems to be about correct. Could be a driver issue but could also be a power supply issue. Make sure your connections are installed on the card and make sure they're secure.

another thing to keep in mind is that the gpu never goes above OR below 210

#

it just stays the exact same

It’s a 5 year old card now a 3060ti. Possible the hotspot has over heated the card

#

I’d recommend throwing new paste on

#

And if it is overheating it’s getting close to catastrophic or damage has been done to be limiting to as low as 210mhz

0 overheating

#

it sits at 40 Celsius

might just sell it and buy a different gpu if i get lazy enough tbh

#

this is not a problem I've ever seen before so i don't really know how to go about it🤷🏻‍♂️

That’s what matters, not idle when nothing is happening with the GPU

i just got the pc .. i don't game with it yet cuz it literally got peak 40 fps in cs2 LOBBY

vapid raft
#

it does say it's using 99% when in game

vapid raft
#

i got like 140-300fps at that clock speed

deft falcon

Right so you’ve got a used PC and they’ve given you a buggered 3070ti? They knew this, take it back

vapid raft
#

got the pc for a good price tho so even with a broken card it isn't a rip

deft falcon
#

Yeah that sounds like a damaged card. I thought it was a card you’ve owned for a while

#

My first port of call would be just to pull the heatsink off and repaste. Possible that’s ran off/dry.

#

I'll do some research on that before i touch it.. I've never taken apart a gpu

#

sounds simple enough tho.. I've built 2 pcs and helped with a bunch of others so i should be able to manage

#

i hope it's just the thermal paste that would be great

Take pics keep track of screws and should be fine

vapid raft
#

bruh vbios def ain't the issue

#

wtf is this

#

idk how to fix that..

deft falcon
#

That’s either incorrect reporting values or your connector isn’t put in correctly

#

Are you also using a daisy chain 8pin x2 or 2 separate cables?

vapid raft
#

nah it's 1 cable

#

no Daisy chain

Today we explore an Asus TUF RTX 3080 who's core is locked to 210MHz even when initiating benchmarks. This issue is well known to be typically caused by a dead NCP45491 power monitoring chip.

In this video I show you what the process involves to replace this NCP chip and when doin...
