So, it does support XMP but it won't boot with 1 of the 2 sticks purchased

One stick will launch at 5800Mhz CL36, but both. I can only assume after 3 hours of troubleshooting different ram configs, xmp on/off that the 2nd stick is faulty from manufacturer
