#Transferring one game to another

That folder is, in fact, empty. What drive are you trying to transfer FROM into the E drive?
Also, use Steam's built-in Library management functionality.
It can’t be empty though
E drive to C drive
Weird. Perhaps somehow that folder was created with the Hidden or System File attribute? You can tell Windows Explorer to shows these, though I don't recommend leaving this on as it makes it tempting to delete things you shouldn't delete.
How were these files originally copied to E: drive?
Let me check
I downloaded on that drive and I got a new drive
How do I check if they’re hidden?
Oh wait, Treesize shows a different folder than your first screenshot.
E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common
E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps
Thats the one i did through steam
The first picture is what steam pulled up
When I click on browse folder
Yeah so you can likely just close Steam, then manually copy the common folder:
- FROM
E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps - TO
E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps
then re-launch Steam. You may still have to tell Steam to "Install" the games, but it should auto-detect them if they're in the right location, only downloading missing files, if necessary.
Oh
Let me try
The read and wright supposed to be 14,800 but it’s going get just 50
And then it crashed
Welp. Sounds that that drive might be defective. What is the exact make and model of your E: drive, how long have you had it, and why did you get a new drive in the first place?
I just got a week ago
Nice new drive. And what make and model is E: drive?
Oh e drive
Let me go see
Yeah... you know, the one you're having problems with? Kind of important to include as much information about the situation, otherwise we're merely guessing / flying blind. 🙂
I thought the main drive is the one that reads and writes
Got it in 2022
And the guy at the repair shop said it had bad firmware and then return it for the warranty. That’s why I’m doing this.
I think he told me what firmware was, but I forgot
Uh, no. Reading and writing involves whatever drives are doing the reading and writing. Anywho...
Ah okay so yeah, your 980 Pro is kaput.

Kaput?
Kaput, donzeo, borken, non-functional, faulty, etc. Either re-download your games to your new drive, or restore from external backup, assuming you make regular backups.
Many 980 Pro drives are known to have faulty firmware, making them unreliable when reading / writing data, or completely dying outright, taking all the data stored on them with them when they die.
No idea. You can confirm this by reading the documentation that came with the drive, or contacting Samsung. Assuming this is a defect and the drive is still under warranty, Samsung should be able to replace it.
Bet
Also, when the download is finished how I know if it worked
Sorry ... when what download is finished? Once Steam downloads whatever game you're installing, you'll know it's finished because Steam will say it's finished and you can click Play to launch the game.
Apparently, it’s finished. I see it in the files, but the games are still telling me to install.
If you're talking about the E: drive (your defective 980 Pro), it's likely that the drive isn't reading correctly, so of course Steam won't know what's on it. Tell Steam to install things into the Steam Library on your new (C:) drive.
Right, let me clarify: if the files did not copy correctly from E: drive to C: drive, then Steam won't know that things are installed. Without having your computer in front of me, I can't really assist much further than telling you to tell Steam to install a game onto the Steam Library on C: drive, then see if you can launch it.
OK, yeah that’s probably wouldn’t have to do it. Just download though thank you for your help though.
