Hello. I have an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X alongside an AMD Radeon RX 7600X. I keep getting constant Frame Stutters this all started yesterday, and I have no idea as to why this happening. I linked an image of the frame stutters in Valorant. In Fortnite I run 240 FPS as well in Performance Mode and will see drops to 60 and 120.

Here is two drives with clips from Valorant of what I am experiencing.

I've Factory Reset, Bios Reset, Updated Drivers, and DDU

hardy portal

this is it right?

edgy wedge
#

get time spy and run it

#

look at temps/clocks when running it

hardy portal
#

what is that? an application?

edgy wedge
#

get the 3dmark demo on steam its under that

hardy portal
#

should i use msi afterburner or no

hardy portal
#

the temps seem fine. i ran it and this is a video showcasing it if you needed to see

edgy wedge
#

what score?

#

put both cpu/gpu socres

hardy portal
#

this was the link. i don't see the scores in specific for gpu and cpu. sorry

hardy portal
#

I got this error in LatencyMon what could this mean or how important is it?

dose it do it if you reset bios since i seen a few 7000 cpus not able to do 200mhz fclk

hardy portal
#

Want me to reset bios and see? I should it put it on expo as well right?

hardy portal
#

Ok got it I will try and let you know

hardy portal
#

I will definetly say its less stutters.

#

i do have 2 x16 ddr5 ram

#

so is it not being used to its full potentital. It seemed more stable but on more chaotic scenes their was stutters. so i would say definitely a lot less but still there

#

wait i just expereience a big drop for no reason. so its still there

edgy wedge
hardy portal
#

how do i do that sorry

edgy wedge
#

you maunal set fclk/fabric

hardy portal
#

with xmp on? sorry

#

or just the fclk

#

i appreciate all the help

hardy portal
#

i did it with expo on. still getting micro stutters.

#

also in valorant it like buzzes almost like its about to crash

get Rivatuner overlay stats while playing any game and when the FPS drop happens get a screenshot of that

#

first need to know what is happening then we can figure out the problem

make sure if you have an Radeon app (Ik there is the nvidia app for nvidia, not so sure about AMD) that it is not messing with any settings. In a case that happened to me, Nvidia was optimizing my settings and it was fighting against the game settings, which caused stuttering. No clue if there is an AMD app, or if there is, if it even has this feature. Just something to think about and maybe check. Also check for any other apps that may be doing the same thing

#

also, it seems elementry. but make sure your ram sticks are in the correct slots as designated by your mobo (if you are running single stick or dual channel. Maybe even triple channel if you are a weirdo, but that would probably be your problem all together so idk lol

hardy portal
#

i have them in slots 2 and 4. i don't have expo or xmp on currently

#

there is an amd app its called adrenalin. im not sure how to check if its optimizing anything though.

#

i don't really have other applicatons as I've factory reset this pc and still recieving stutters. I have Norton saftey thing but I don't think that is the case. As a week ago it was running fine these stutters just came randomly.

I would disable/remove Norton, tbh Windows defender should get virus definitions and will scan files being downloaded etc. before execution and all so should be mostly good with that... if do for whatever reason feel Norton is the better option would probably disable windows defender antivirus stuff since usually having multiple antivirus software running can run into issues with them both trying to scan files when accessed and whatnot

hardy portal
#

a lot less stutters. still some there but its a lot less

#

so that really helped

yeah typically audio glitching is the CPU being peaked but can be the case CPU is just waiting on other resources, but generally just need to monitor with task-manager or something else in the background when it's happening and see which resources look to be getting exhausted then can sort processes by that resource to get a better idea of what the root cause(s) is/are

#

In windows can use winkey+r, msconfig enter go to services tab, hit the checkbox to hide MS services and see what all else is running in the background (can disable non essential things), the "startup" tab in there now links to a section in task manager in win 11 but still have list there of services that are automatically being started in the background as well can help to reduce the list some for overall performance but if your'e always launching an app on startup or need in the background to say play a game then just have to "take the hit" of having that thing eating some resources. There are a handful of MS services like the indexer for search capability that can be pretty heavy on resource utiltization and if you don't use the feature can be worth disabling as well.

ok thank you very much for this info. the games are a lot more playable now.

hardy portal
#

Still stutters but it’s a lot less. Was probably planning on getting a tweak

If u mean debloating your system and etc. Then watch Khorvy tech 2025 tutorial

#

It disables a lot of power saving options so that could help

hardy portal
#

just people who do pc optimizations

hardy portal
#

but im sure if its an audio drivers. cause it freezes and makes a buzz noise like its about to crash. happens on bigger stutters
