#need help with psu cables

What? Can you rephrase this/take pictures of what you’re talking about?
erm
@crisp moon
not like that
but 1 end plugs into psu
and then it goes to middle
and that splits and goes into gpu
can u use the middle 8 pin to the gpu as well
So an 8 pin with a pigtail to another 8 pin?
And the gpu only has 1 8 pin power connector?
@feral thunder
You can use either
no like
the card i got has 2 8 pin connectors
can i use those 2
or do i need another seperate cable
do you understand what im tryign to ask?
2x 6 + 2
i got cable extensions
can i plug the cable extensions into those 2 and plug it into new gpu?
People say you should use 2 separate cables and that is ideal, but if your psu is high enough wattage to power it, it’s fine to use 1 cable
nono
im still plugging in 2 8 pins
the thign im asking is
the cable has 2 8 pins on it
If you can use 2 cables, do that
Otherwise you can just use 1 cable and plug both connectors into the gpu
that's what im asking
if i can use 1 cable
and plug both into it
i don't want to just accidently fry the gpu lol
Yes, you can. But if you have 2 separate cables, use the 2 instead
If you’re in spec for 300w then you are fine.
However you will have some performance loss using 1 cable. Not massive amounts though.
Do not increase gpu power limit on a daisy chain
oh lol
ima do something dumb
i got a spare psu
might as well use that to power the other half lmao
??
Why? Is your main psu really small?
Jay2cents has proven you can get a 1-10% lower frame rate using daisy chained cable compared to 2x cables. I don’t think he went into it but it is due to many factors including power distribution by the PSU to GPU, variable load, sustained load and quality of cable connection.
That’s the main reason for 2 cables. The safety on the daisy chained cable for power draw is more than specced enough. It’s the potential performance drop as to why you should recommend 2 separate cables.
