So you can get x670 boards that support it at least
Tehcnically you just need a board that supports x8/x8 bifurcation, but Nvidia locks it away behind licensing (Or maybe they can't advertise that they support it without paying a license)
So a lot of boards that don't advertise it might support it
Workstation boards are more likely to support it

You can game with it, but you are going to be limited by pretty shitty SLI profiles or AFR rendering
Nvidia has moved more over to these things for Nvlink, where it comes preconnected

If you really need nvlink, I would be looking at WRX boards.
@empty cloak You also have to consider that most consumer boards will have the x8/x8 slots next to each other. So if you are using a gaming GPU like a 3080 or 3090, they are likely not going to fit next to each other.

To make the GPUs talk together properly, you need an SLI profile. And you need an SLI profile for every single game. Nvidia hasn't made one since 2020.
