Hi there, I'm looking to build a pc for when I move to university that I can use for school work (basic applications, word etc) and some gaming (Marvel Rivals, GTAV, Valorant, God of War). I'd like to stick to 1080p as I have a ViewSonic VG270 monitor and will likely keep that with me. I have a budget of around £600-800.
My current pc has an i5 10400F, RX 5600XT, Crucial mx3000 but I'd prefer if I didn't use parts from it. Thanks for any help 🙂

Not for that price

What’s your motherboard?

#

As imo all you really want for extra performance at that budget is a new cpu and gpu. New build is too low unless you find used.

#

An 11600k used (cex is about £110) and a new 7800xt (450ish) would be a good uplift… if your motherboard can do 11series

#

If you can stretch a little over 600 to the 11700k used (about 180 cex) would be good

Do you think the Crucial RAM still cuts it?

the pc is about 5 years old now i reckon

Doesn’t support 11 series

Try and get a minimum 10600k or 10700k and a new gpu in region of 7800/7900xt for what you can afford

even if we stretched to the upper of 800 it still wouldnt be worth it?
