When doing the nvidia install there should be an option for custom/advanced and "clean installation" within there would give that a shot

#

DDU should have wiped out everything driver related but not sure it goes and picks out the configuration for the nvidia apps and whatnot too, most often binaries are installed in "Program Files" but other system or user specific config for apps will be in user home folders (like AppData) or could be some info stored in the windows registry and pretty sure DDU isn't going to touch any of that.

If still not working after that I'd probably try to figure out where the install makes any modifications to settings/files and purge it all (or if it's easier just reinstall OS)...

You could try checking "event viewer" winkey+r eventvwr enter to launch that and look in application logs on left for errors to get more details typically (nvidia stuff might end up in system logs instead of application but can be useful for more detail from the error). Often somewhat "generic errors" shown to the user in the window/UI but more details logged.

hmm so if didn't reboot after the new clean install would maybe do that too just to make sure any background services or whatever were able to start from the clean install on boot, some other things basically saying this can be from other conflicting services potentially, tbh not sure what else to glean from that you could try disable third party services from boot like explained on this page https://www.partitionwizard.com/news/nvidia-localsystem-container-stopped-working.html but this isn't a thing I'm familiar with really

MiniTool

This post offers several effective solutions to the “Nvidia LocalSystem Container stopped working” issue.

gotcha yea can try searching some of those error codes or versions to see if get any more specific hits on the issue, otherwise if go to nvidia support on it might be helpful to let them know you had some crash reports from the event viewer logs after the app failed to start and see if they have some direction for ya

#

the wer/dmp files will have more details about what was happening in the program just before the failure that they might be able to use to get more info too but would probably try there next if not able to find anything too relevant based on the log info (kernel related stuff would generally ignore since everything sort of touched by the kernel and can lead to red herrings most of the time, but the nvidia nv container errors and versions etc definitely seem relevant)

i cant seem to open the wer/dmp files

ah sorry yeah was just mentioning they might be helpful for nvidia support folks, but isn't likely something you'll be able to easily use directly (tools like Visual Studio or WinDbg to examine the files but ultimately going to need support help since won't have the source to modify/rebuild whatever) and haven't found anything super obvious to point at with regard to the errors about the container/service stopping
