Booting into linux live usb ethernet card doesnt show up also. Is it possible that network port or mainboard is fked?
Did you check for the card or just if it has a connection?
ifconfig -a or ip link show in the terminal
Welp. Ethernet port is on motherboard. But ye. It does not show up anywhere. Looks like its like not existing
Tryin now to update bios. Maybe that will help. But doubt.
Yeah, it being gone in both Linux and Windows is a pretty sure sign that it's dead.
You could see if you still freeze in Windows, it might have been because of the NIC
But all freezes were caused cuz of ram. Because error code was 1 long and 2 short beeps
And maybe check if your BIOS has a disable for it, in case it sometimes jumps back to life for a few seconds.
AMI BIOS?
AMI is by far the most common BIOS and 1 long, two short is usually not memory with AMI
Which board is it?
Yeah, the manual says RAM. 1 long two short is usually VRAM on AMI BIOSes
but i doubt that caused ethernet controller to die
No, but getting GPU errors would make more sense because both the GPU and network card connect over PCIe
ikr
worth trying to reseat cpu maybe?
for som reason i had problems with asus motherboards all the time, usualy with ram
it might be time to ditch asus 😄
Well, four sticks on Ryzen is a bit of a headache.
