Got a 5070ti, after installing it I tried updating it to the latest drivers and it black screened so I tried to get through safe mode which I did first try but accidentally restarted after I downloaded ddu. I swapped back to my 3080 which got me to Home Screen allowing me to download the latest drivers from the site for my 5070ti. I went into safe mode to start ddu on my 3080 but now I’m stuck on “set up pin” and when I try to normally boot I just get a black screen

Yea I’m at a loss right now

lilac furnace
#

not much more that can be said or done

idle prawn

Nothing at all?

lilac furnace

mhm

idle prawn
#

Uh just installed my 5070ti and I got to the Home Screen

#

What should I try…

lilac furnace

😀

#

I have another pc I can try troubleshooting on but I got no clue what to do

idle prawn
#

Could it be my pcie riser?

If you can get back to windows, you can try all the drivers until 1 works

#

Or return the 5070ti

#

Why did you upgrade anyway

Yeah you can try. They all have their issues and you’ll probably have to try multiple to get one that works

idle prawn
#

It’s on 572.60 last time I checked

#

Damn alright

shut ridge
#

All drivers post-566.36, that is.
50 series was released after that tho so all of their drivers have issues

idle prawn
#

Yea…

#

How often does nvidia release new drivers

#

Because I’m thinking I’ll just run my 3080 until they “fix” it

shut ridge
#

No idea. I haven’t updated my drivers in quite awhile and I haven’t looked at drivers since

idle prawn
#

I can get into safety mode on my 5070ti

#

But I’m stuck on setting up the pin

shut ridge
idle prawn
#

It “sends a code” to my outlook but it never receives a code

#

And I can’t choose a different account

idle prawn
#

ok i just plugged in my 3080

#

everything is running fine

#

Just ran ddu

#

Should I make it 566

#

For my 3080 or latest for my 5070

idle prawn
#

Installed 566 for my 3080

idle prawn
#

so scrap the 5070ti all together...

idle prawn
#

I went through every driver under the 5070ti

#

They all black screened

#

Might just return this 5070ti for a 9070xt

Likely a good idea until nVidia figures their shit out.

Same problem here!

OS: Windows 10.0.19045 Build 19045
Motherboard: ASRock B850M Steel Legend WiFi
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9900X 12-Core Processor
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER (ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX™ 4070 SUPER 12GB GDDR6X OC Edition)

Still using 4070 Super here. Updated to NVIDIA Game Ready Driver 576.28 - got black screen on both monitors shortly after installation finished (1 DP, 1 HDMI), confirmed that windows completely locked up through keyboard behavior.

Restart by power button, no display output in post or in windows on either monitor.

eight power button induced shutdowns later of attempting to enter windows recovery environment, the monitor connected by HDMI turns on, still not recovery environment, but ordinary windows. Good enough.

I roll back to the last driver- 576.02 and restart the computer.

mobo (ASRock Steel Legend B850M) fails to POST, status light indicates GPU failure. I give it ten minutes, no change.

another power-button induced shutdown, proceeds to POST fine with output to hdmi monitor only, boots to windows, still no output to displayport. Great.

#

After that, I tried to reboot into my other OS, Nobara, but found that the UEFI/BIOS wasn't outputting to either monitor again, so I couldn't select a different boot device (didn't want to perform it blindly.)

Regarding the iGPU and mobo display outputs, They're disabled- I'm running in CSM mode and manually re-entering all my settings after a bios reset would be a pain in the ass. SO, stuck on Windows 10 with my drawing tablet as a monitor and waiting for NVIDIA to push a fixed driver.

Got 576.26-desktop-notebook-win10-win11-64bit-international-dch.hf from NVIDIA Geforce Graphics support, which has fixed the issue.
