PC Specs;
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7900
GPU: Radeon RX 6600
RAM: 32gb DDR5 (2 sticks of 16)
SSD: Lares 2tb m.2 2280 NVMe PCIe 3.0
Motherboard: MSI PRO B650M-A WIFI Micro ATX AM5

A few hours ago I was using my pc as usual. Nothing out of the ordinary, when it suddenly blue-screened. It has blue-screened once before but then I restarted it and it booted like normal.

This time it tried running and automatic repair, but after a few seconds it said the automatic repair failed. It is now stuck on the blue screen with the typical troubleshoot options (Reset, Startup Repair, Command Prompt, System Restore, etc.).

So far I have:

  1. Tried to reset the PC — receiving the message, “There was a problem resetting your PC. No changes were made.”
  2. Tried to run the Startup Repair — receiving the message, “Startup Repair couldn’t repair your PC”
  3. Followed various tutorials on the internet on commands to run through command prompt to fix it — none of which worked.
  4. Powered it off, unplugged it, opened it up, reseated the GPU, SSD, and both RAM sticks — this of course, also did not work.

Any help on what I should do next would be greatly appreciated.

Either way, if possible, I’d prefer not to lose everything on the drive

Oh, you should always have a backup of any important data you cannot re-create or download. What would you do if that drive outright died tomorrow? If losing your files would cause significant financial / emotional harm, backup.

I have one drive. There is no backup

#

It’s not detrimental to me if I lose everything on the drive, but if there is a way I can get it back, I would definitely prefer to go that route.

Get a new drive, install windows on said drive. Pull old SSD out and access it from a dock or smth to pull files off

A minidump was probably created too

#

Go to C:\Windows\Minidump and check if you have any minidump files. If you do, go back to the Windows folder and copy the Minidump folder itself to the Downloads folder (You can use the desktop if you don't have OneDrive syncing files). Zip the copied folder and attach it to a post. Please follow the instructions to the letter as Windows doesn't like you messing with files in this location.
